Am I allowed to use the Internet privately at work?

Private Internet and e-mail use can be grounds for termination. According to case law, this is particularly the case if there is an express prohibition by the employer, significant amounts of data are downloaded onto a company system, work performance suffers as a result, costs are incurred as a result of the use or, for example, there is a threat of damage to the employee's reputation as a result of downloading criminal content.
